The first one day international between England and Australia has been washed out by rain on Friday. The ODI which was held at Leeds has been washed out without a ball being bowled. There was a heavy and Persistent rain which flooded the ground.
England and Australia is scheduled to play five match one day international after five test matches Ashes series where England won the series by 3-0.
Umpires Richard Illingworth regularly inspected the ground but as there was not any possibilities to continue the play, they decided to abandon the match.
The ground staff also tried to soak all the waters filled in water to make possible to play the game. But it also went in vain.
According to organizers they will be refunding all the money that supporters had paid for the first ODI.
The second ODI between England and Australia will be held at Old Trafford, Manchester on Sunday, September 8.
