Embassy of India, Standard Chartered Bank and Citizen Bank advanced to the semi-finals of the 15th Soaltee Crowne Plaza Super Sixes on Tuesday.
Embassy of India defeated NIC-Asia Bank by four wickets in their quarter-final match. NIC-Asia made 65-4 from five overs after batting first. Praveen Regmi made a 12-ball 28 for NIC-Asia that included three sixes and a boundary. Embassy of India reached 66-2 in 4.5 overs.
Vipin Tomar made 28 off 13 for Embassy of India with six hits to the fence for the winners. In the pre-quarterfinals, Embassy of India had routed Machhapuchhre Bank by five wickets.
Standard Chartered had to work hard in their slim 14-run victory over Nabil Bank. Standard Chartered piled a challenging 81-2 riding on 28 not out from Sitanshu Pandey that included five fours and a six. Nabil, in reply, were restricted to 67-0 that wasted Laxman Charan Joshi’s 31 not out off 18 balls.
Laxman struck four boundaries and a six and Sitanshu hit five fours and a six in his unbeaten 10-ball knock for the winning side. Standard Chartered had humbled Sipradi Trading by 38 runs early in their last 16 match.
Citizen Bank, meanwhile, sneaked into the last four with a narrow three-run win over Kantipur Media Group. Citizen made 68-3 with seven-ball 21 from Amit Khanal. Kantipur could only manage 65-2 where Pankaj Koirala scored 25 off 14 with two fours and a maximum.
Citizen had overcome Civil Bank by four wickets in pre-quarters. The semi-final and final matches will be held on Tuesday.
