Donald resign as bowling coach

Former South African fast bowler and bowling coach has stepped down as South Africa’s bowling coach after a period of four years.


South African Cricket Board confirmed about Donald stepping down as bowling coach. According to the press release by the board Donald felt this the right time to move on and has stepped down as bowling coach of the team.


South Africa appointed Donald as bowling coach in June 2011 when Gary Kristen was appointed as head coach of team. But he continued to work with team even after Russel Domingo was appointed as head coach in May 2013 after Kristen stepped down as head coach.


Donald thanked board and players for being part of his carrier of four years as bowling coach of South Africa team. “It was a dream to work in South African cricket environment after my playing carrier as fast bowler of the team,” said Donald.


South African board has not announced replacement of Alan Donald as bowling coach. As South Africa’s next tour is of Bangladesh on July it is expected that they will announce in a due time.
