Sri Lankan opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan has announced his retirement from Test matches.
Dilshan has informed about his retirement to Sri Lanka cricket board, a press release released from the Sri Lankan cricket board informed.
“I have announced my retirement before the Zimbabwe tour as the tour has been postponed. I had thought of retiring after Zimbabwe tour only,” Dilshan said.
Dilshan made his test debut in the year 1999 against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo. Since then he has appeared in 87 test matches and has scored 5,492 with an average of 40.98.
During his 14 long years carrier in test matches Dilshan has scored 16 test hundred with his carrier best of 193 against England.
