Dhawan miss double century by 10 runs against Sri Lanka on day one

India is on dominating position on a flat track against Sri Lanka in the first day of the first test match at Galle International ground after centuries from Shikhar Dhawan and CheteswharPujara. Centuries from Dhawan and Pujara has propelled India to 399/3 at end of day one.  

Dhawan made quickfire 190 runs from 161 deliveries with 31 fours while Pujara’s played for class hundred is not out on 144 runs as Indian captain Virat Kohli chosed to bat first after wining toss. 

Dhawan fell just before the tea break trying to go for a big hit, gave simple catch to former captain Angleo Mathews who was fielding at mid-on. Dhawan and Pujara shared 253 runs between them for second wicket before the former fell missing his double century by just 10 runs.

India had a bat start losing Abhinav Mukund for 12 runs. Soon after the tea break India lost their captain Kohli for 3 runs. 

After that Ajankya Rahane and Pujara continued their fine form to stay cool on wicket putting not out 113 runs partnership for fourth wicket. Rahane is playing on making not out 39 runs 

Aththachchi Nuwan Pradeep Roshan Fernando has remained the only wicket taker on day one whose figure reads 18-1-64-3.
