Dhangadhi city, the hosts of the two-day cricket tournament under Ncell Nepal Premier League, has begun its preparation for the historical format that is going to launch for the first time in Nepal.
The two-day cricket will begin from April with six franchises of various corporate houses locking horns in the cricket crazy city. The city has begun to work on maintaining the Fapla Cricket grounds in Boradandi which will host the tournament and talks is also going with the local bodies to support the event in every possible manner, informed Dhangadhi Cricket Academy Subash Bahadur Shahi, who has been entitled to manage the tournament in Dhangadhi.
“The local bodies are excited to hold the two-day cricket and they have assured to provide the help that is needed in its successful hosting. Dhangadhi Municipality and District Development Committee have committed to provide financial support in ground construction and tournament hosting,” said Shahi.
“It is really a big challenge to prepare a full-fledged ground and following the commitments, the pressure has eased a little bit,” said Shahi.
The ground is also on the verge of getting accessible by pitch road. Also, to ease the transportation problems, a city vehicle will be operated regularly throughout the tournament apart from setting drinking water and toilet facilities.
The tournament committee has procured skilled manpower from Indian and Kathmandu to level the grounds and prepare the playing pitches.
The locales of Boradandi have also shown a deep desire to support the two-day cricket tournament.
