Dhami guides KCTC to victory

Man-of-the-match Aashish Dhami picked up four wickets as Kathmandu Cricket Training Centre (KCTC) defeated Himalayan Cricket Academy (HCA) four wickets in the Kathmandu Cricket League on Tuesday.


Electing to field first at the Tundikhel grounds, Aashish’s figures of 4-42 from eight overs helped KCTC bundled out HCA for 151 in 25.3 overs. Apart from Aashish, Nandan Yadav also picked up 3-34 from 5.3 overs for KCTC.


Surendra Chand made 26 off 36 with three boundaries and a six for HCA, while Yagyaman Kumal played an eight-ball cameo of 21 with five boundaries. Padam KC (17), Lalit Singh Bhandari (15 not out ) and Pradeep Airee (15) also contributed runs in double figures.


KCTC, in reply, reached 152-6 in 32 overs riding on a 41-ball 32 from Sanjay Basnet. Sanjay hit five boundaries. Sumit Maharjan took KCTC across the finishing line making 29 not out from 32 balls with four boundaries and a six.


Mahesh Chhetri also made 28 from 34 with five boundaries with Manish Shahani (12) making runs in double figures. Bhuwan Karki picked up 4-37 from eight overs for HCA, while Dipendra Airee and Yagyaman had one scalp apiece.
