South Africa One Day International cricket captain AB de Villers has been named as South Africa’s Cricketer of the Year award for second consecutive years.
De Villers who scored 1610 runs in 28 ODIs last year with an average of 80.50 was also awarded with ODI player of the year, player’s player of the year and fan’s player of the year award.
De Villers also scored 779 runs in nine test matches at an average of 55.64. He also set two world records last year. First was fastest ODI century against West Indies when he made 100 runs in 31 balls. Second was fastest 150 runs in ODIs when he made 150 runs in just 64 balls during a World Cup game against West Indies.
South Africa’s test captain Hasim Amla won the award of Test Cricketer of the year. Amla scored 801 runs in nine test matches at an average of 66.75 last year.
Morne Van Wyk was awarded with T20 cricket player of the year award while Shabnim Ismail was handed with Women’s cricket player of the year award.
All the players were awarded during Cricket South Africa’s annual sports award which was organized on Wednesday.
