The national cricket team who qualified for the ICC World Cricket League Division-II following a 36-run D/L victory over Malaysia were ignored by the organisers after they were stranded for two and half hours at the flooded Selangor Turf Club (STC) grounds in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday.
Nepali and Malaysian team members were waiting for the team bus after the completion of the match but after heavy rainfall blocked the roads flooding the entire STC area, the team was left stranded at the venue.
According to a team official, the national team members kits, bags and all their belongings were wet by the water that was collected in the STC.
“We made several phone calls to the organisers but our calls were unanswered. The players and team officials had to spend a horrible two and half hours without food and water,” said the official.
Nepal’s fifth and final league match was affected by rain that ultimately benefitted the team as they won that match through D/L Method.
