The national cricket team are certain to go through a hectic schedule as their flight to South Korea for the Asian Games in Incheon was cancelled for a second consecutive day.
Nepal were scheduled to leave for 11:00PM on Wednesday by a Dragon Air flight but after the flight was cancelled due to technical problems. The flight then was rescheduled for 7:00PM on Thursday and once again it ended with the same fate.
The flight now has been scheduled for 4:00PM on Friday meaning the team will land in Incheon just a day ahead of their Group ‘B’ match against Kuwait. If the flight is cancelled yet again, Kuwait will get a bye if Nepal don’t reach Incheon on time. Nepal will also meet Maldives on Sunday.
With a hectic schedule cause by double cancellation of flight, Nepal will now have to overcome a jetlagged condition to perform in Incheon. A lot is expected from Nepali cricket team because of a favourable draw.
The 2014 World Twenty20 finalists, Nepal, could face off an experimental Aghanistan side if they finish first in Group ‘B’, while a second-place finish could set them a match against Test playing side Bangladesh.
Along with the cricketers, athletics and table tennis players were also stranded at the airport on Thursday evening. The flight cancellation is also expected to take toll on the athletics and table tennis squad who all have competitions on Saturday.
