Core fastest century makes NZ 1-1

New Zealand wins the third ODI against West Indies by a margin of 159 runs and levels the series 1-1 on Wednesday played at Queenstown Events Centre.


West Indies won the toss in the match which was reduced to 21 overs per side as the game was delayed due to rain.


New Zealand made a huge score of 283 runs in 21 overs with the loss of four wickets.


For New Zealand Core Anderson was the highest scorer who made 131 runs of 47 deliveries. Core also became the fastest batsman to score a century surpassing Shahid Afridi’s record when he made a century on just 36 balls just a ball ahead of boom boom Afridi.


Man of the match Core who came to bat at number five scored six boundaries and fourteen sixes.


Likewise Jesse Ryder also made a brilliant 104 runs in just 51 balls with 12 fours and fives sixes.


With chasing the huge target of 284 runs in just 21 overs West Indies were able to make 124 runs in 21 overs with the loss of five wickets.


Captain Dwyane Bravo was the highest run scorer for West Indies who made not out 56 runs.


The fourth ODI between West Indies and New Zealand will be played at Saxton Oval, Nelson on Saturday, January four.
