Colors fade in Tez’s shine

Panchakanya Tez staked their claims for the Wai Wai Everest Premier League title registering a second consecutive victory riding on an all round performance from skipper Sharad Vesawkar.

After making short work of Jagdamba Rhinos on Sunday, Tez eased to a 34-run victory over Colors X-Factor to go to the top of the table with four points from two matches.

In the first match of the day at the TU Stadium, the 50-over champions Tez reached 154-3 in 20 overs with a half century from Aasif Sheikh and a gritty knock from Sharad. The skipper then returned to pick up three wickets including that of captain Gyanendra Malla as X-Factor were restricted to 120-8.

Apart from Sharad, Karan KC also snared three wickets and one of his victims was X-Factor’s ferocious hitter Siddhant Lohani, dismissed for one.

Man-of-the-match Sharad also removed opener Hari Shankar Sah (25) and Yogendra Singh Karki (21). Gyanendra made 20 off 21 with three fours. Himanshu Dutta top scored with 28 runs from 25 balls with a six.

It was Aasif, brother of U-19 international Aarif, who gave a perfect start to Tez adding 51 runs for the first wicket with Sanjay Shrestha (21).

After the departure of Sanjay, Aasif added another 83 runs for the second wicket with Sharad before losing his wicket for 67 off 60. He hit five fours and two sixes. Sharad made 40 off 39 with two fours and a six.
