Australian captain Michael Clarke will miss the match against New Zealand of ICC Champions Trophy scheduled on Wednesday. Clarke who had missed the match against England also on Saturday is suffering from lower back injury.
Australia who lost the match by 48 runs against England seems to be in great pressure when they go into the field in absence of Clarke against New Zealand.
“Clarke is having treatment. He is getting better and better in these days. But he has not been totally fit to play the match against New Zealand. We will have continuous checkup. We do hope that he will get fit to plays against Sri Lanka in the last match of group stage next week”, says Alex Kountouris, Austraian Physio.
31 years old Clarke has been suffering from back injury during his career. His problem was seen during Australia’s tour of India where Australia lost the series by 4-0. He was also absent in the warm-up matches of Champions Trophy against India and West-Indies.
His problem seems to be a tension for his fans for the upcoming Ashes too which starts from July 10.
