Citizen Bank, Nepal Bank, Civil Bank and Machhapuchhre Bank returned victors on the second day of the 15th Soaltee Crowne Plaza Super Sixes at the Tribhuvan University Stadium on Wednesday.
Citizen edged Eastern Motors by 32 runs. Citizen made 86-2 with a 12-ball 25 from Sushant Pant who hit two fours and a maximum. Eastern Motors replied with 54-0. Nepal Bank routed Commerz & Trust Bank by 45 runs.
Gautam Rai smashed 30 off 14 with four hits to the fence and a six as Nepal Bank made 98-2. Commerz & Trust finished at 53-1 after Jaydev Shrestha made 17-ball 22. In a high-scoring match of the day, Machhapuchhre Bank narrowly prevailed over Soaltee Crowne Plaza by 14 runs.
Sabib Shrestha stroked four sixes and two boundaries in his 34 not out from eight balls and Sunit Shrestha made 26 not out as Machhapuchhre piled a huge 90-1. The team from the organisers did play with aggression through Bikash Karn (35) and Bibek Khadka (32) but could only manage 76-0.
Civil Bank punished United Spirits by 84 runs. Nishesh KC collected 32 not out from seven balls with five boundaries and two sixes that saw Civil post a tournament-high 109-2. United Spirits saw themselves squeezed out for 25-2.
Meanwhile, NIC-Asia had no trouble in their 40-run victory over Sanima Bank. Pravin Regmi made a 12-ball 31 as NIC-Asia made 86-2. Sanima could only manage 46-4. Likewise, ICFC Finance trounced Siddhartha Bank by six wickets, Nabil Bank hammered Morang Auto Works (MAW) by the same margin and Sipradi Trading also came with the same result against Nagarik Media.
