Chinese mobile VIVO as title sponsor of IPL till 2022, pays INR 2199 crores for five seasons

Vivio, a Chinese mobile brand company has been retained as
the title sponsor of Indian Premier League (IPL) for five seasons and will play
a huge sum of 2199 crores Indian Rupees.

According to a press release released by Board of Cricket
Control in India (BCCI), Vivo which has been the title sponsor of IPL for the
season 2016 and 2017 will continue till 2022 from 2018. Vivo earlier had paid  200 crores for two seasons.

Vivo came as the title sponsor of IPL for just two season
after Pepsi which was then the title sponsor ended five years contract with
BCCI for sponsoring IPL after three seasons.

When BCCI launched IPL in 2008, DLF was the title sponsor
paying 40 crores per season for five seasons till 2012. Then for 2013 to 2015
seasons Pepsi was the title sponsor paying 79.2 crores per season. Vivo then
took title sponsor after Pepsi which ended five seasons contract after three
paying a huge sum of 100 crore per season.
