Zimbabwe Cricket Board has appointed their all rounder Elton Chigumbura as the captain of ODI and T20 team. Likewise Brendan Taylor was appointed as the test captain. The decision came after the board meeting that was held on Monday.
According to the board’s decision to split the captains for different format of the games Chigumbura and Taylor was handed the captains of the Zimbabwe team.
Chigumbura has played 157 ODIs scoring 3057 runs and taking 95 wickets while he has scored 464 runs in 27 T20s taking 16 wickets.
Test captain Taylor has played 38 innings in 19 test matches scoring 1260 runs with four hundreds and six fifties.
The upcoming game of Zimbabwe is against South Africa which starts from August nine which will feature a test matche and three ODIs while Australia will join both the team for a Triangular Series.
