India lost their first match of the five match One Day International series against West Indies by a huge margin of 124 runs after conceding 321 runs in the match held at Kochi but Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is still “quite happy” with their bowlers.
Dhoni is happy with the bowlers especially in the death overs. West Indies scored 52 runs in batting power play and conceded 81 runs last ten overs including 15 in the final over.
“I think our bowlers did a brilliant job to restrict West Indies in a total of 321 runs. Looking at this wicket the target set by West Indies was pretty low as out bowlers did an excellent bowling especially in the death overs,” Dhoni said.
BHuvaneshwar Kumar was the most economical bowler who conceded 38 runs in 10 overs but remained wicket less. Ravindra Jadeja was the next most economical bowler conceding 5.80 runs per over while other conceded more than 6.5 runs per over.
Now India and West Indies will meet in Delhi for the second One Day International on Saturday.
