The Nepali cricket team today left for Dehradun to participate in the 31st All India Uttarakhand Gold Cup Cricket on Friday.
Former U-19 team skipper Prithu Baskota will be leading the team in Dehradun when the tournament begins on May 26. Former national team skipper Binod Das will coach the team which will play the tournament as CAN-XI.
The team is without regular skipper Paras Khadka, Gyanendra Malla, Basanta Regmi, Subash Khakurel, Sharad Vesawkar, Rahul Kumar BK, Sanjam Regmi and Amrit Bhattarai.
Other team members include Binod Bhandari, Naresh Budhayer, Chandra Saud, Bhuwan Karki, Mahendra Chand, Yagya Man Kumal, Avinash Karn, Ram Naresh Giri, Rajesh Pulami, Sagar Pun, Shakti Gauchan, Anil Mandal and Pradeep Airee.
Binod and Chandra joined the team in Dhangadhi from where the team caught a bus to Dehradun, while wicketkeeper Mahendra Chand will leave for Dehradun from New Delhi. CAN vice-president Purna Lama is the team manager, while Jyanendra Jha is the physio.
