The cabinet on Monday gave a green signal to National Sports Council (NSC) proposal of rewarding national cricket team cricketers with one million rupees for booking a historic spot in the ICC World Twenty20.
Nepal had entered their first ICC World Twenty20 finals after defeating Hong Kong by five wickets in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers playoff on November 27. All cricketers in the 15-member national team will get one million rupees each.
Coach Dassanayake will get Rs 500,000, while assistant coach Dipendra Pratap Singh, physiotherapist SV Subra, technical analyst Sriram Somayajula and team manager Purna Lama will get Rs 350,000 apiece.
The cabinet has also directed the Youth and Sports Ministry to come forward with a rigid plan to host international tournaments along with plans for infrastructures in the development of cricket.
Along with the two crucial decisions, Monday’s meeting also asked the Ministry to hand over a plan for prepare the national team in a better way for the ICC World Twenty20.
