Bowler Som Pal sets numerous batting records

Som Pal Kami has earned a widespread praise late off for his fiery pace and his ability to take wickets consistently. But in Nepal’s one off Twenty20 International against Hong Kong at the P Sara Stadium, Som Pal not only saved the team’s blushes by taking the team to 72-9 but also set numerous records in batting.


Som Pal hit six boundaries on Monday equaling Subash Khakurel‘s numbers in the Twenty20 International. Subash had hit six boundaries against Afghanistan during the ICC World Twenty20. 


His two sixes is also the maximum from a Nepali batsman in the game. Gyanendra Malla and Subash Khakurel have hit one six each during the ICC World Twenty20.


Som Pal has also become the joint fourth highest scorer for Nepal following today’s innings. Subash Khakurel (56 versus Afghanistan), Gyanendra Malla (48 versus Hong Kong) and Paras Khadka (41 each versus Hong Kong and versus Bangladesh) are ahead of Som Pal. 


Sharad Vesawkar (40 against Bangladesh) shares the record with Som Pal Kami who also shared Nepal’s fourth highest Twenty20 International partnership for the country with Shakti Gauchan. Som Pal shared 43-run partnership for the ninth wicket beating Subash and Sagar Pun‘s 36-run stand against Hong Kong during the World Twenty20.
