Defending champions Region No 1 (Biratnagar) bounced back from their opening day loss to Region No 7 (Janakpur) with a slim four-wicket victory over Region No 3 (Kathmandu) in the Wai Wai U-19 Women’s National Twenty20 Tournament in Pulchowk on Tuesday.
A three-wicket haul each from Sangeeta Rai and Neha Karki saw Kathmandu bundled out for just 79 in 17.4 overs. Biratnagar though didn’t have the best of the reply but they managed to reach 80-6 in the last ball of the day.

Rabina Bisunkhe picked up 3-12 for Kathmandu with Sushma Shrestha picking up two wickets. Earlier, opener Jyoti Pandey (12), Rabina Bhandari (12) and Ashmin Karmacharya (12) were the only Kathmandu batswomen to make runs in double figures.
Apart from Neha and Sangeeta, Ankita Rai also picked up two wickets for Biratnagar who now have two points along with Kathmandu. Janakpur lead the table with four points.
