Former Sri Lankan batsman, Chandika Hathurusingha has been appointed as the head coach of Bangladesh. Bangladesh cricket board appointed Chandika as the coach for a period of two years.
Chandika who was presently working as the assistant coach of New South Wales and coach of Sydney Thunder left the job for the International job and will join Bangladesh cricket by June 10. This will be Chandika’s first job as the head coach of any international team.
Chandika will be replacing Shane Jurgesen who had resigned as the head coach of Bangladesh in April just working for 14 months before finishing his two years tenure.
Chandika had played 26 test matches and scored 1274 runs, while in 35 ODIs he has scored 669 runs.
