Bangladesh announce WC squad

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announce their squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2015 which will kick off jointly at Australia and New Zealand from February 14 on Sunday.


The board reveled their squad through a press release. Fast bowler Mashrafe Mortaza has been named the captain of the team while all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will be his deputy.


Tamim Iqbal who is currently in Australia for his treatment of knee has also been included in the team as doctor informs he can return to nets within this week.


Bangladesh are in Pool A along with Australia, New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, Scotland and Afghanistan. The main motive of Bangladesh Cricket Board is to defeat associate nations Afghanistan and Scotland.


Bangladesh will play two warm up matches against Pakistan and Ireland. Their first practice match will be against Pakistan on February 9 at Blacktown Olympic Park Oval in Sydney and second match against Ireland on February 12 at the same venue. Bangladesh will play their first match of World Cup 2015 against Afghanistan at Manuka Oval, Canberra on February 18.
