Bagmati Province Cricket Association spiced up the Prime Minister Cup One Day National cricket tournament after they announced cash incentives for the top performers from their team.
The Province will reward Rs 10,000 to the batsman who completes a century and Rs 5,000 for every five-wicket haul and half century. Any bowler taking three wickets will also get Rs 3,000, informed Bagmati Province on Saturday.
Bagmati Province, which has national cricket team former skipper Paras Khadka and current captain Gyanendra Malla as the two big names, are kicking off their tournament campaign with the match against defending champions Nepal Police Club at the TU grounds on Sunday.
The Province has also insured all the players for Rs 500,000. Additionally, Bagmati Province Sports Development Council will also provide Rs 2000 as match allowance per game. On Saturday, the Council also distributed tracksuits to team during an unofficial programme at the TU grounds.
Province President Raju Basnyat said the incentive was a step towards professionalism. “We want to run the Bagmati Province professionally as a team and the announcement of incentives and cash allowance is just the start. There will be many more to come in coming days, Basnyat told cricketingnepal.com.
