Australian Ambassador tries his hands in cricket, becomes successful

Australian Ambassador to Nepal Peter Budd has spent most of his times in Nepal in different diplomatic programmes or high-profile meeting. But Budd took a break from his hectic schedule on Thursday to try out himself in indoor cricket.

Yes… Budd played for the Australian Embassy in the ongoing Coca Cola Corporate Indoor Cricket Tournament holding bat and ball for a game of cricket where he succeeded. In the matches at the Velocity Arena in Ratopul, Budd played a key role in handing Australia Embassy a victory over Nepal SBI Bank.

In his two-over brief spell, Budd took two wickets conceding just 10 runs and returned with the bat to make 16 runs from 19 balls with a boundary. The second match of the day saw Budd’s side losing the game by 107 runs against Ncell ‘B’.

In a game where every Australian Embassy bowlers were hammered, Budd bowled two wicketless overs conceding 26 runs and made 12 runs from 18 balls against Ncell ‘B’. However, Budd showed that he must have been a promising cricketer in his youth with all the skills required on the field.
