Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has reduced the ban of their former Captain Mohammad Ashraful for five years. Earlier Bangladesh board had suspended Ashraful for eight years as he was found involved in match fixing and spot-fixing during 2013 edition of Bangladesh Premier League.
Ashraful whose five year ban will start in August 13, 2013 now will be eligible to return to cricket after August 13, 2016. Another two years of his suspension was decreased as he participated in a BCB or ICC anti-corruption education and training program.
Ashraful had admitted his guilty before being banned and feels happy for his reduction of ban by Bangladesh Cricket Board.
30-years old Ashraful has played 61 test matches for Bangladesh scoring 2737 runs with an average of 24 with six centuries and eight half centuries.
Likewise he has scored 3468 runs in ODIs with an average of 22.23 in 177 ODIs while in 23 T20s he has made just 450 runs.
