Australia win first ODI by six wickets

Australia won the first One Day International match against England by six wickets with 26 balls remaining in the match and leads the five match series by 1-0 held at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

 

In the match England won the toss and elected to bat first. Their start was not pretty well but managed to make 269 runs in 50 overs with the loss of seven wickets.

 

English batsman could not play well against Australian bowler. For England Gary Ballance was the highest run score who made 79 runs while Eion Morgan also contributed 50 runs for his team. Australian bowler Glenn Mckay was the most successful bowler who took three wickets conceding 44 runs in 10 overs.

 

In reply Australia chasing the target of 270 runs finished the game with the loss of four wickets in 45.4 overs.

 

Man of the match Aaron Finch made 121 runs for Australia in 128 balls with hitting twelve boundaries..

 

The second ODI match between England and Australia will be played on January 17 at Birsbane .
