Rs 5.4 million jackpot on offer

All 15 members of the national cricket team competing in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers in Dubai this month can hit a two-year jackpot if they make it to the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 to be hosted by Bangladesh. 

 

Eight corporate houses have come forward with a combined package of Rs 5.4 million employing the national team members for the next two years if they qualify for the ICC World Twenty20. The corporate houses will pay Rs 15,000 a month and if managed can employee them further.

 

Unilever will recruit Shakti Gauchan and Binod Bhandari, Bajaj will take care of Sharad Vesawkar and Anil Mandal, while Vaidya Group will hire skipper Paras Khadka and Jitendra Mukhiya.

 

Gyanendra Malla and Rahul Kumar BK will join Goldstar Shoes, Mega Bank will recruit Subash Khakurel and Amrit Bhattarai, F1 Soft will keep Pradeep Airee and Avinash Karn with Ace Travels taking care of Basanta Regmi and Mahesh Chhetri. Sagar Pun will join King's College.

 

All the players signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the respecitve corporate houses during a programme in Kathmandu on Sunday. The contract will not impact the players who are currently playing for Nepal APF Club and Tribhuvan Army Club. 

 

In addition, Vaidya Group will also honour the best performer from Nepal in the Qualifiers with a Toyota Car. Model Global Visas Consultancy will reward each man-of-the-match from Nepal in the league stage wih Rs 25,000, while Panchakanya Group has also announced a suprise package which they will disclose after the team's return.
