Dhangadhi Premier League pushed back

Feb 04, 2020 | CN Staff |

Dhangadhi Premier League, one of the premier franchise Twenty20 competitions of Nepal, has been postponed for six months.

The tournament was originally scheduled to begin from February 25 to 27 this year but due to a busy schedule of Nepali national cricket team, the tournament was pushed back.

The decision means, DPL would miss one single Nepali calendar year. DPL will now be held from October 24 to November 7.

While the Nepali team is scheduled to play Oman and the USA in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 Tri Series beginning from Wednesday, they will also be involved in the ACC Eastern Region Asia Cup Twenty20 Qualifier five days after the tournament closes on February 12.

Soon after the Twenty20 Qualifier, Nepali cricketers will get involved in the Everest Premier League Twenty20 which is beginning from March 14-28. After the EPL, the national team is also scheduled to participate in the League 2 away matches.

DPL is the first franchise Twenty20 competition of Nepal that held the auction of the Nepali cricketers. Pokhara Premier League is the other big Twenty20 domestic event of Nepal.
