Anjali sets world record for best Twenty20I bowling figures

Dec 02, 2019 | CN Staff |

Nepali cricketer Anjali Chand set the world record of best ever bowling figures in Twenty20 International cricket when she took six wickets without conceding a run in the country's thumping 10-wicket victory over Malaysia in the South Asian Games women's cricket on Monday.

Held in Pokhara, Anjali recorded magical bowling figures of 2.1-2-0-6 as her effort bundled out Maldives for just 16 runs in 10.1 overs. Previously, the record belonged to Malaysian Mas Elysa, who had claimed six wickets for three runs from her 4 overs against China women in January this year.

Courtesy Anjali's heroic effort, Nepal chased down the target in just five deliveries without losing a single wicket. Opener Kajal Shrestha alone made 13 runs for Nepal hitting three boundaries in her five-ball innings.
