Bangladesh include Soumya Sarkar for South Asian Games

Bangladesh Cricket Board on Friday announced a strong squad including big name Soumya Sarkar for the 13th South Asian Games men's cricket that begins from December 3 at the TU cricket ground.

Nazmul Hossain will lead the U-23 Bangladeshi side that also inludes other big names in Sarkar, Afif Hossain and Naeem Sheikh. The trio has a haul of experience having already represented senior side of the now highly-improved Test playing nation of the Indian sub-continent.

Sarkar has played 15 Tests, 55 One Day Internationals and 46 Twenty20 Internationals for the Tigers.  

Following the withdrawal of other two giants India and Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are the only two big sides showing up for the tournament. South Asian Games men's cricket will be participated in by U-23 sides from the Test nations along with national team from hosts Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives.

Nepal will open the tournament with the match against Sri Lanka U-23. The Bangladeshi team has hardly made any change on the squad that played the ACC Emerging Teams Cup squad that was recently held in Bangladesh.
