Paltan splash cash to bring U-19 cricketer Kushal Malla

Pokhara Paltan splashed huge cash on U-19 cricketer Kushal Bhurtel as the draft for the second season of the Pokhara Premier League was held on Monday.

As the six franchise released six players each, they bought two players as well from the draft with Kushal purchased by defending champions Paltan for a cash purse of Rs 150,000.

Kushal, who has already made into the national team following his recent exploits in U-19 cricket, is touted to be the next generation of Nepali cricketers. Paltan also took the services of another U-19 cricketer Aakash Chand whose major tournament was recently concluded U-19 Challenger Trophy in Hyderabad, India.

Aakash was bought for Rs 50,000. The second edition of one of the renowned franchise cricket tournament of the country will also see the return of two former national team cricketers Subash Khakurel and Amrit Bhattarai.

Both the players were bought by Kathmandu Golden Warriors who replaced previous franchise Kathmandu Royals. Warriors purchased both players for a purse of Rs 50,000.

Expert Dhangadhi Blues got the services of Sunam Gautam and Anil Kharel for Rs 50,000. Sunam is currently in Australia, while Kharel was released by Butwal Blasters.

Bikram Sob drew the second best price in Monday's draft after he went to last year's finalists Chitwan Rhinos for a price of Rs 130,000. Rhinos also got the services of leg spinner Bikram Bushal for Rs 50,000.

Biratnagar Titans bought left-handed wicketkeeper batsman Dilip Nath for Rs 75,000 and Lokesh Bam for Rs 50,000. Butwal Blaster bought Sher Malla and Kamal Khatri for Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively.
