Biratnagar Titans and Chitwan Rhinos registered consecutive victories in the Women's Champions League with easy victories on Friday.

In the first match at the TU grounds, Titans overcame Pokhara Paltan by six wickets before an allround performance from Ritu Kanoujiya handed Chitwan Rhinos a whopping 93-run victory over Lalitpur Falcons.

Batting first in the morning conditions, Paltan were restricted to a below-par 94-5 in 20 overs. Paltan did get rid of opener Sonu Khadka in the first over but their middle order chipped in enough leading Titans to 95-4 in 15 overs.

Jyoti Pandey and Laxmi Chaudhary added 36 runs for the second wicket. Paltan removed Jyoti and Dolly Bhatta (12) to raise some hopes. Laxmi, however, carried on and together with Ashmina Karmacharya (16 not out) shared 30 runs for the fourth wicket taking the team close to victory.

Laxmi made 23 off 27 with two fours and Jyoti played a cameo of 16-ball 22 with four hits to the fence. Skipper Sita Rana Magar took two wickets for Paltan.

Earlier, Paltan top and middle order failed to fire despite being watchful in their innings. It was a 37-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Kabita Kunwar and Saraswati Magar (10 not out) that took them close to triple figures.

Kabita top scored for Paltan with a 23-ball 22 not out with two boundaries. Sita (16) and Anjali Chand (15) were other notable scorers for them. Player-of-the-match Sabnam Rai took 2-8 from four overs for Titans.

The second match of the day belonged to Ritu who scored a half century and then returned to take two top order wickets for another big win for Rhinos. Ritu made 55-ball 58 not out and got involved in multiple partnerships leading Rhinos to 135-3 in 20 overs.

Ritu unsettled the top order picking up two wickets before Falcons were dismissed for a tournament-low 46 in 17.1 overs. Nary Thapa was the only batswoman to make runs in double figures for Falcons making 17 off 20 with a six and a four.

While player-of-the-match Ritu was disciplined in her four-over spell taking 2-10, Kabita Gautam snared 3-13 from four for Rhinos.

Kanchan Shrestha (duck) fell early for Rhinos but Ritu took care of rest of the innings with crucial partnerships. The best came for fourth wicket when she and Pyari Chaudhary shared an unbroken 68-run stand.

Ritu's innings included eight boundaries. Pyari contributed 22 off 23 to the total. Nary took 2-20 for the Falcons side.

Both Falcons and Paltan have lost two consecutive matches with elimination right on the brink. Rhinos and Titans, meanwhile, are in the driving seat for the playoffs.
