Just a day after being clobbered for 44 runs in four overs,
Nepal's Sandeep Lamichhane has redeemed himself with decent bowling figures for
Toronto Nationals in the Global T20 Canada on Sunday.

Sandeep had a nightmare start when he was struck for 24 runs
in a single over by Scottish opener George Munsey before taking a wicket in a
high-scoring match against Brampton Wolves which Nationals went on to lose by
11 runs.
But the Nepali leggie returned for a winning cause as his
bowling was pivotal in restricting Montreal Tigers for just 136-9 after they
elected to field first. Chirag Suri did the rest with a 37-ball 52 taking Nationals
to 137-6 in 17.3 overs for a four-wicket win.
Nationals skipper Yuvraj Singh introduced Sandeep in the
sixth over in which he conceded four singles and a boundary from another
Scottish player Kyle Coetzer. Sandeep was struck for a boundary in the first
ball of his second over but fought back hard conceding just two runs in the last
five.
He came back to bowl the 14th and gave away just
five singles off it. He went on to dismiss Matthew Cross on the first ball of
his last over. Dillon Heyliger smashed him for maximum and made nine of his
last over.
It was Nationals' second victory in the tournament having
lost three matches. They are at the third spot with four points behind Wolves
(4 pts), Vancouver Knights (7 pts) and Tigers (5 pts).

On Wednesday, another Nepali cricketer Sompal Kami will have
an anxious wait when his Winnipeg Hawks prepare for a crucial second round
match against Knights. Hawks are fifth in the table with four points on net run
rate and have to beat Knights for any realistic chance of making into the
playoffs.
But
for Sompal it would be a nervous wait after being hammered from 33 runs in just
the two overs he got while making his global franchise debut against Edmonton
Royals.
