Nepal will go into the ICC World Twenty20 Asia Regional Qualifier as firm favourites given their form and standing in the global rankings.

The Paras Khadka-led side is currently sweating-out in Malaysia for two-match Twenty20 International Series before the Qualifier and their focus has been unwavering. The Qualifiers' fixture will get underway from July 20 in Singapore. The top standing side in five-team tournament will it to the Global Qualifiers in the United Arab Emirates.

"We had a very good preparation back in Nepal as well. The Twenty20 Series in Malaysia will give boys fair time to adapt to the conditions," Nepal's newly appointed head coach Umesh Patwal said ahead of the series. Patwal was confident of making it through to the Global Qualifiers.

"We don't have any other option as only one team will go through," Patwal said. "Our primary focus is to participate in World Twenty20, so the mission will start from here in itself," Patwal added. "We are here to play and win the matches, not trying to have too many trials. Just want to win matches to bring confidence and positivity in the squad," said the Indian.

The two matches against Malaysia are slated Saturday and Sunday. Skipper Paras looked very vocal about implementing the plans and strategy in the right time. "I think we are ready. It will lead us to the world cup so every one is very excited and keen to perform," said Paras. "We will try out different combination leading to the Qualifiers and let's hope we can put out all our hard work into the result," Paras added.

"This tour in Malaysia will give us chance to adapt to the situation as it is pretty similar with what we are going to get in Singapore," the captain said. "Beside that, it is international match so we won't take it easy and try our best to win."

For a long time, Nepal opening has been a real headache and the captain hinted that he would step in to get rid of that woe. "I had opened in our last series against UAE, so I might open but more than the position I will adapt according to the demand of the team."
