Aaish, Deepak lead Province 3 to massive victory

Aaish Bhattarai and Deepak Bohora gave U-16 National Cricket Tournament a electrifying start after the openers got involved in a century partnership to hand Province 3 a 90-run victory over Province 4 on Tuesday.

Batting first at the TU grounds, Aaish and Deepak added 104 runs for the first wicket as Province 3 build on to a mammoth 210 in 30 overs. Province 4 in reply were restricted to 120-6 in 30. Opener Arjun Kumal top scored for Province 4 scoring a 53-ball 38 hitting five boundaries.

Arjun were in the chase until Arjun was in the crease but after the opener ran himself out, Province 4 innings was left in tatters. Abhishek Thapa (17) and Aditya Thapa (14) were other notable scorers for them. Tilak Bhandari took 2-17 from six overs for Province 3.

Bibek Darai, Deepak and Aaish also took a wicket each for the winning side.

Earlier, Deepak led the scoring for Province 3 with a quickfire 52 off 38 balls hitting nine boundaries. Aaish held the innings and went on to share another 58 runs for the third wicket with Prashant Kamat.

Aaish made 82 from 71 balls with 10 hits to the fence. Kamat contributed 32 off 49 with two hits to the fence. Abhisek Upadhyaya (19) and Krish Karki (12 not out) also made runs in double figures for Province 3. Abhishekh Thapa and Roshan Neupane took two wickets each for Province.

The seven-day tournament serves as cricketers' selection for the upcoming ACC U-16 Eastern Region Tournament to be held in Chiang Mai Thailand from April 18-29.
