Nepal's spin sensation Sandeep Lamichhane picked up a wicket in his first match of the Indian Premier League after Delhi Capitals fielded him against Kolkota Knight Riders at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday.

Sandeep returned the figures of 1-29 in four overs for the figures that Capitals termed as "Super Stuff" in their Facebook page despite the bowler was hit for 17 runs in the last over. He delivered 12 dot balls and was hit for two fours and as many sixes.

Having been sent in, Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik's half centuries helped KKR post 185-8 in 20 overs. Russell smashed 28-ball 62 with 10 boundaries (four 4s & six 6s) while Karthik slammed five fours and two sixes on his way to scoring 50 runs from 36 balls.

Harshal Patel (2-40) picked maximum two wickets while Sandeep was most economical bowler with the economy of 7.2 runs per over.

Sandeep was brilliant in his first three overs giving away just 12 runs with a wicket before Russell and Karthik collectively hammered him for 17 runs off his last over. Sandeep was called in for the second over of the innings where he conceded just a single. He delivered seven dot balls against Nikhil Naik before getting rid of him with wrong'un in the fourth ball of his second over.

He conceded six in the second after Robin Uthappa hit him for a boundary after he had removed Naik. Brought back in the tenth over, Sandeep gave away just five runs. But Russell smashed him for two consecutive sixes and collected 17 runs off the last over. Skipper Karthik also hits a boundary in the same over.

Sandeep was benched for Delhi Capitals' first two matches against Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings respectively.
