Nepal to kick off Qualifier campaign against Qatar

Nepal will square off against Qatar in their opening match of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup Asia Regional Qualifier to be held in Singapore from July 23. 

According to the tie sheet released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, Nepal will kick off their campaign on opening day against Qatar before taking on Malaysia, Kuwait and Singapore in the four-team round robin league tournament. 

The tournament was supposed to be held in Malaysia but ICC opted to shift it to Singapore with five Asian nations fighting for two spots for the Global Qualifiers. The Global Qualifier will be held at the United Arab Emirates this year.

UAE were initially draw in the second round of the Asian Regional Qualifier but have been directly drawn into the Global Qualifier by the virtue of being the hosts. 

Nepal will meet Malaysia on July 24. and Kuwait on July 27 before rounding up the tournament with the match against Singapore on July 28. All the matches will take place at the Indian Association Cricket Ground at 7:45 AM Nepali time.

Nepal’s Schedule

July 23 – Nepal vs Qatar (7:45 am)

July 24 – Nepal vs Malaysia (7:45 am)

July 27 – Nepal vs Kuwait (7:45 am)

July 28 – Nepal vs Singapore (7:45 am)
