Nepali teen-sensation Sandeep Lamichhane bowled beautifully and picked up a wicket in his second match of the Pakistan Super League with a disciplined bowling display in Sharjah on Saturday.

Playing for Lahore Qalandars against Sarfaraz Ahmed-led Quetta Gladiators, Sandeep just conceded a boundary throughout his spell and was most economical bowler of the match giving away just 20 runs in his four overs. He bowled 11 dot deliveries.

Despite Sandeep’s excellent effort, Qalandars went on to lose the match by four wickets against Gladiators after a swift knock from Ahmed. Having been sent in, AB De Villiers’ 45 not out off 40 balls led Qalandars to 143-7 in 20 overs. The match went down to the wire and Gladiators continued their unbeaten run after their skipper Ahmed defied the bowling attack with an unbeaten 36-ball 52 that included the last ball six.

Sandeep came into this league following a successful eight-match stint with Melbourne Stars in the Australian Big Bash League picking up 11 wickets. And his fine performance continued at the other part of the world picking up four wickets in his first two matches. Sandeep had taken 3-46 against Multan Sultans in his PSL debut on Friday.

Sandeep dismissed Ahsan Ali in his third over – conceding just four runs off the over. Ali was batting on 40 when he was bamboozled after the Nepali leggie delivered a wrong one.

Sandeep was called on to bowl on the sixth over in which he conceded just three runs. He was called back from another end in the ninth over where he gave away ten runs including a six from Ali on second ball of the over.

Sandeep came back for his last one on the 17th over where he gave away just three runs. Qalandars are currently fourth in the six-team standings with two wins from five matches.
