Former skipper Nary Thapa picked up four wickets as Nepal crushed the United Arab Emirates by seven wickets in the ICC Women's Twenty20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifier in Bangkok on Friday.

Electing to bat first at the Asian Institute of Technology grounds, UAE never settled in the game before the entire team was bundled out for just 41 runs in 17.3 overs. Nepal reached the target in 10.2 overs replying with 45-3.

Nepal lost opener Sita Rana Magar (six) and Apsari Begam (duck) with 23 runs on the board before Kajol Shrestha and skipper Rubina Chhetri finished off the chase with an 18-run third wicket stand. Kajol was out for a 25-ball 15 with two boundaries before losing her wicket with Nepal just one run away from victory.

Rubina struck a six and hit two boundaries in her 17-ball 18.

Earlier, UAE were quickly reduced to 19-6 in the ninth over after Sita, Kabita Kunwar and Sonu Khadka picked up two wickets each. Chamani Seneviratana tried to hold the innings but Nary resumed their collapse getting rid of the UAE top scorer.

With Nary removing Chamani for 13, UAE went on to lose their last four wickets for just six runs. Nary took 4-6 from 3.3 overs. Chamani was the only UAE batswoman to reach double figures making a 29-ball 13 hitting the only boundary of their innings.
