Dhangadhi Stars face an early exit from the Dhangadhi Premier League after the defending champions suffered their third consecutive defeat at the Fapla Cricket Grounds on Wednesday.

All round performance from Karan KC and Avinash Yadav made the difference as Biratnagar Kings defeated Stars by 21 runs on Wednesday. After making handy contributions with the bat to lift Kings to 103-9 in 20 overs, Karan and Yadav returned to pick up eight wickets between them bundling out Stars for a tournament-low 82 in 19 overs.

The victory takes Kings to the fourth position of the six-team standings with two points from two matches.

Skipper Sompal Kami and Bipin Khatri had worked collectively to reduce Kings to 42-5 in 11.1 overs before Yadav and Karan combined for a 27-ball 32-run stand which ultimately proved decisive in a low-scoring clash. Sompal returned the destructive figures of 3-8 in his three overs and Bipin took 3-19 from four.

Sompal dismissed Hari Shankar Sah (two), Khusal Bhurtel (six) and Asad Pathan (three) with Bipin sending back Aasif Sheikh (12) and Rajesh Pulami (one) to wreak havoc before Yadav and Karan held firm. Yadav made a 29-ball 27 hitting two boundaries and Karan struck two sixes and a four in a 22-ball 21.

Karan did the early damage in defense of the low total getting rid of openers Sunil Dhamala (one) and Rohan Mustafa (six). Amit Shrestha (seven) also didn't last long before Sandeep Rajali and Raju Rijal tried to repair the damage.

The two batsmen looked solid with Stars just 47 runs away from a much-needed victory. But Sushan Bhari came up with much needed breakthrough sending back Raju to open the floodgates. Stars lost their last six wickets with the addition of just 14 runs after Yadav picked up four wickets.

Karan accounted for the wicket of Rajali and Pawan Sarraf (four). Stars just scored 14 runs for last six wickets after Yadav picked four of them. He bowled miserly with the figures of 4-10 in four overs. Player-of-the-match Karan snared 4-24 from his four.

Sandeep scored 34 runs from 36 balls with four hits to the fence. Raju was their next best scorer making 24-ball 15 with one boundary.
