Babar to play for Challengers, Raja another foreign player

Hong Kong’s former national cricket team captain Babar Hayat is set to play for Rupandehi Challengers in the Ruslan Dhangadhi Premier League set to begin from February 9 at the Fapla Cricket Groun in Dhangadhi.

The Challengers have Basanta Regmi as a strategic player and consists of Lalit Singh Bhandari, Binod Bhandari, Bhim Sharki, Pradeep Airee, Sandeep Sunar, Krishna Karki, Sumit Maharjan, Bikram Sob, Puran BK, Anil Kharel, Suraj Darai and Sher Malla.

A fan favourite who missed the Pokhara Premier League, Babar, had played for Biratnagar Kings in the last edition. He also represented Biratnagar Warriors in this season’s Everest Premier League.

Challengers have also announced the signing of Pakistani First Class cricketer Raja Ali Dar who is a left handed batsman and a left arm spinner. Raja has played 69 First Class games in the Pakistani domestic cricket for Lahore and 62 List ‘A’ matches.

He also had the experience of playing in the Bangladesh Premier League for the Rajshahi Kings. Babar has played 22 One Day Internationals and 24 Twenty20 Internationals for Hong Kong.
