Vitamin D deficiency keeps Sharad out of UAE tour

Jan 20, 2019 | CN Staff |
National cricket team's middle order mainstay Sharad Vesawakar is set to miss Nepal's upcoming tour of UAE due to illness.

Following Sharad's withdrawal, a 16-member final squad was announced on Sunday. Sharad has been feeling weak because of Vitamin D deficiency. It will take around 3-4 weeks for Sharad to get fully recovered. His withdrawal also raises doubts whether he will be fully fit or get recovered to play Dhangadhi Premier League which will start from the second week of February.

Sharad, who had broken his finger during Nepal's debut ODI against home team Netherlands, had gone on to miss the second ODI and also Asia Cup Qualifiers held in Malaysia.

Four youngsters Avinash Bohara, Pawan Sarraf, Bhim Sharki and Sandeep Jora have been included in the 16-member squad. Nepal are playing their second bilateral ODI series against UAE at their home ground starting from January 25. The three-match ODI series will be followed by another three-match Twenty20 International Series.
