Sandeep's decent spell not enough for Sixers

Jan 18, 2019 | CN Staff |
Nepal’s global representative Sandeep Lamichhane picked up a wicket giving away 27 runs for Sylhet Sixers against Sakib Al Hasan-led Dhaka Dynamites in the Bangladesh Premier League on Friday.

Sandeep --  who was asked to roll his arm in the fifth over – responded with a wicket in his very first over conceding just  three runs off it. He failed to pick up any other wicket in his next three overs and ended up with the decent bowling figures of 1-27 in four overs.

Electing to bat first, David Warner slammed 63 runs and helped Sixers to reach 158-8 in 20 overs. League leaders Dynamites, however, chased the target in just 17 overs for the loss of four wickets. Player-of-the-match Shakib scored unbeaten 61 for the winning side.

Sandeep dismissed Rony Talukdar (13) in his first over. Talukdar was batting on run-a-ball 13 and  was bamboozled after the Nepali leggie delivered a wrong one.

Sandeep conceded 12 runs off his third over after Shakib clobbered him for three boundaries. He gave away eight runs in his second and four in the last over.

He played a vital role when Sixers returning the economical figures of 1-18 from four overs against Rangpur Riders. Sixers are currently sixth in the seven-team tournament.
