Sarita, 4-11, leads Nepal to victory over Malaysia

Nepal defeated Malaysia by six wickets to register second consecutive in the Thailand Women's Twenty20 Smash on Sunday.

Sarita Magar picked up four wickets to restrict Malaysia to 61 runs in 19.3 overs. Roma Thapa and Sita Rana Magar did the rest with sensible batting to chase down the target in 16.2 overs.

Roma did the bulk of scoring with an unbeaten 24-ball 20 including a four. Sita chipped in 16 runs from 36 deliveries with a boundary.

Mamata Kumari Chaudhary scored nine and Kajol Shrestha added six runs. Intan Jamadihayu Jaafar and Ainna Hamizah Hashim picked a wicket each for Malaysia.

Earlier, Sarita bowled exceptionally well to take 4-11 in 3.3 overs. Kabita Kunwar produced economical spell giving away just five runs in her four overs with a wicket. Nary Thapa and Indu Barma also took a wicket each.

Slow Tzin Yee (12) and Yusrina Yaakop (11) were the only Malaysian batswomen to reach double figures.

Nepal had begun their tournament campaign on Saturday crushing China by 10 wickets. They will next meet the United Arab Emirates on Monday.
