Jan 12, 2019 | CN Staff |

Nepal started their Thailand Women's Twenty20 Smash on winning note, beating China by 10 wickets at the Asia Institute of Technology grounds on Saturday.
Electing to field first, Nepal restricted China to a paltry 48-6 in 20 overs. Openers Kajal Shrestha and Sita Rana Magar did the rest as Nepal reached the target with 66 balls to spare.

In a match that was given Twenty20 International status, Sita made 24 and Kajal chipped in 24 to ease the chase. Sita's 25-ball innings included three fours and Kajal hit a boundary in her 29-ball innings.

Earlier, it was player-of-the-match Karuna Bhandari who took the game away from China picking up 3-9 from four overs. Nary Thapa was exceptional in her 2-6 from four overs. Sita also had one scalp. Wicket less Rubina Chhetri also had good with ball, giving away just 10 runs in her three overs.
Opener Zhang Chan was the only China batswoman to reach double figures making a 38-ball 13.

Nepal will face Malaysia on Sunday in their second match.
