Chhetri launches autobiography Kaptaan 1998

LB Chhetri, a former national team captain, on Friday launched his autobiography Kaptaan 1998.

The autobiography is a record of Chhetri's past collection that details his playing career, experience of playing for the country, his initial playing days in Indian city Kolkata and laying the foundation for women's cricket in Nepal. 

Also known as the 'Father of Women's Cricket', Chhetri is credited for the formation of Nepali women's cricket team which he started from his hometown Nepalgunj. He is among the first generation of Nepali cricketers who represented the country for the first time in international arena through the 1996 ACC Trophy. 

Chhetri served as vice-captain under Uttam Karmacharya in the 1996 ACC Trophy before leading the country in the 1998 edition of the then biennial regional 50-over tournament between Asia's non-Test playing nations.

Former Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) President Binaya Raj Pandey, Karmacharya, ex national team skippers Binod Das and Pawan Agarwal along with former national women's team captain Neera Rajopadhyaya released the book.
