O'Brien arrives Kathmandu for Everest Premier League

Dec 05, 2018 | CN Staff |
Ireland's star cricketer Kevin O'Brien arrived Nepal on Wednesday to play Everest Premier League 2018 (EPL) for Kathmandu Kings XI.

Ireland's lone Test centurion, O'Brien, flew through Qatar Airways and landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 10:30 Nepali time. The 34-year old Irish all-rounder had scored magnificent century (118) against Pakistan in Ireland's maiden Test match.

He has scored 3,172 ODI runs including two centuries, one against England in ICC World Cup 2011 which is the fastest century in World Cup history that came off just 50 balls. He is equally handy with the ball having taken 112 wickets in his 128 appearance in one-dayers.

Having played his first match back in 2006, he has already represented his country in over 300 occasions. Kathmandu Kings XI will play their first match of the season on Monday against Chitwan Tigers. United Arab Emirates skipper Rohan Mustafa is Kings XI's another foreign recruit.

The franchise is yet to announce their other two foreign recruits after Zimbabwe allrounder Sikandar Raza said he will not be available for this season's EPL.
