The Everest Premier League (EPL) has further grown in reputation after last season’s runners-up Bhairahawa Gladiators announced the big signing of experienced Dutch cricketer Ryan ten Doeschate on Monday.A day after Pokhara Rhinos announced signing of South African juggernaut Richar Levi, Gladiators flaunted its strength with Ten Doeschate signing who can be called as the most experienced cricketer to play the EPL so far.

Doeschate, the Indian Premier League winner with Kolkata Knight Riders, has played 320 Twenty20s – the most by any Associate cricketer – in his stellar career that has seen him play lucrative franchise leagues across the world. He has also played in Australian Big Bash League, Pakistani Super League and Bangladesh Premier League.

“A genuine batsman with five ODI centuries and nine half centuries from 33 One Day Internationals, Doeschate also has the knack of picking up wickets through his medium fast bowling. He has also played 174 First Class matches, 210 List A and 10 Twenty20 Internationals,” Gladiators said on Monday.

Doeschate will join Emirati fast bowling allrounder Mohammad Naveed and Indian Ranji cricketer Ravi Inder Singh.

“Naveed is a utility cricketer who perfectly suits for the shortest version of the game. The 31-year old is an experienced campaigner having played 32 ODIs, 23 Twenty20 Internationals, 73 List A along with 33 Twenty20s and seven First Class matches,” said Gladiators. “Singh is a classy batsman who represented Punjab in the India’s premier First Class cricket – Ranji Trophy. He has played 45 First Class matches, 37 List A and 28 Twenty20s. A new-ball batsman, Singh bats at the middle order and has all the abilities to hold the innings with both patience and aggression.”

EPL will now boast a list of long and renowned international cricketers also including Scottish skipper Kyle Coetzer, Ireland captain Paul Stirling and his teammate Kevin O’Brien, English country cricket Paul Coughlin. The tournament begins from December 8-22 at the TU Stadium.
