Paras leaves Biratnagar for Chitwan in Pokhara Premier League

Paras Khadka went to Chitwan and Sharad Vesawkar will represent home side Pokhara as Queen’s Event Management Pvt Ltd on Thursday unveiled teams and marquee players of the Pokhara Premier League (PPL).

The city-based franchise Twenty20 event consists of six teams who will battle for the title in a tournament slated for October 26 to November 6 in the city of lakes Pokhara. Chitwan Tigers, Pokhara Paltan, Biratnagar Titans, Butwal Blasters, Expert Dhangadhi Blues and Hulas Kathmandu Royals are the six teams participating in the tournament.

Khadka, who plays for Biratanagar Warriors in the Everest Premier League and Biratnagar Kings in the Dhangadhi Premier League, has joined a new city Chitwan. Vesawkar, who has now recovered from a finger injury he sustained during Nepal’s first ever One Day International bilateral series against the Netherlands, will be joining the hosts’ team.

Dipendra Singh Airee is back to his home town after he was unveiled as the marquee player for Dhangadhi Blues. Sompal Kami was named as Butwal Blasters marquee and Gyanendra Malla will once again be representing Kathmandu franchise. Ace leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane will play for Biratangar Titans.

The tournament is organised by Queen’s Event Management Pvt Ltd and will see the auction of cricketers which is schedule for September 30. The registered players have been allowed to raise their base price for this edition, the first practice in professional Twenty20 cricket of the country.
